CLEO goes to D.C. to Advocate for Clean Air, Clean Water & Climate Justice

Natalia Arias, CLEO’s Director of Programs, was invited by GreenLatinos to Washington, D.C. on September 6th. She participated in the advocacy day and met with staff from Senators Nelson and Rubio, and Rep. Frankel's offices to ask for support of the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Rule, NEPA, and opposition to the replacement of the Clean Power Plan, and rollbacks of the Clean Car Standards. In the evening, she was a panelist at the ‘State of the Environment: Latinos on the Frontlines’ and discussed the link between climate change, how people of color from Latinos to Haitians are the most vulnerable to the impacts of a changing climate, and how the Trump administration’s proposals to replace the Clean Power Plan, and the detriment of Clean Car Standards rollbacks.
