On Friday, October 4, The CLEO Institute gave two climate presentations at Coral Gables Senior High School.
These lectures were part of CLEO’s new Resilient Schools program, and were facilitated by Natalia Ortiz, CLEO’s Director of Development, and Julieta Rodrigo, CLEO’s Associate Program Manager.
CLEO facilitates breakout sessions at Climate Corrections conference
On October 3rd, Olivia Collins, CLEO’s Director of Programs, collaborated with the All Angels Episcopal Church to kick off their participation in the Anglican Season of Creation by giving the community a Climate Crisis 101 lecture.
CLEO advises working group from Hawaii on climate issues
On Thursday, October 3, Caroline Lewis, CLEO’s Founder and Senior Climate Adviser, participated in the second annual Climate Corrections conference in Orlando. Caroline served a speaker, presenter, and facilitator for breakout sessions.
This conference was held in collaboration with the Volo Foundation, University of Central Florida, and the City of Orlando. The event is dedicated to sharing and collaborating on the solutions of climate change.
Tabling at STEAM School Designation Training
On Monday, September 30, Caroline Lewis, CLEO’s Founder and Senior Climate Adviser, spoke to a group of working professionals from Hawaii on the topics of climate adaptation, mitigation, and mobilization. The group include city and state planners from Hawaii, as well as scientists from the University of Hawaii.
Caroline introduced the group to The CLEO Institute and highlighted our strategies in addressing climate issues and improving resilience in coastal cities.
CLEO promotes climate resilience in Little Haiti
On Monday, September 30, The CLEO Institute participated in the STEAM School Designation Training at John A. Ferguson Senior High School. CLEO staff engaged with over 50 teachers to speak about the new Climate Resilient Schools program.
Teachers from all grade levels and subjects across Miami-Dade County expressed high interest in collaborating with CLEO to integrate climate education into their classrooms as part of reaching their STEAM goals.
On Saturday, September 14, The CLEO Institute, in collaboration with APT Group and the University of Miami, hosted a working meeting to discuss climate resilience in Little Haiti. The workshop was a chance for the community to learn about the work being done by the aforementioned groups.
