Miami Youth Climate Strike
On Friday, May 3, the CLEO Institute sponsored the Miami Youth Climate Strike that took place in front of Miami Beach City Hall. More than 40 students participated, and various attendees wore green in solidarity.
The crowd listened to climate-related speeches covering topics of renewable energy, new government policies, and leading a zero-waste lifestyle. Moreover, they were able to talk to a commissioner from City Hall and engage her in a conversation about actionable steps to mitigate climate change effects in South Florida.
Lastly, the students interacted with a representative from the Citizens’ Climate Lobby, who taught them how to become more politically involved.
